Spring Casual

The weather in LA has been pretty nice, especially on the weekends.
And thanks to some of my friends, I discovered this cute park a couple of weekends ago.
It's only 10 minutes away from my house!
The weather was really nice and we had a little picnic.
I was really enjoying my outfit of the day and was able to score some photos, thanks to Hannah! :)
I love this cardigan with a little rainbow patch on the chest.
It's super comfortable, and is easy to pair with whatever. I love that it covers the arms but is light weight and perfect for spring.
I've been really enjoying the denim on denim look lately, and I've been in love with the distressed light wash jeans and the jean jacket I recently bought. I had a hard time wearing light washed denim let alone even just blue jeans for a long time, so it took a lot of courage to even buy one. And oh my goodness, I love it.
MOMENT OF TRUTH: With my new work, keeping up with the blog has been more difficult than I anticipated.
I used to post about once a week but I don't think it's realistic for me to be able to update that frequently anymore. I'm going to aim for about 2 posts per month, but I will be updating my instagram handle more regularly so make sure to come by!

Trench Coat Lovin'

I've recently been in love with high-waisted bottoms and crop tops. I used to be scared of wearing them because I never thought they would look good on me. High-waisted bottoms have a tendency of making your butt look bigger, and I always preferred to cover my butt with a longer shirt.
Thanks to my weight-loss and the healthier lifestyle, I've been gaining more confidence to wear different styles of clothing and outfits. I would have never thought I can pull them off. I also couldn't fit into a lot of the clothes that I started fitting into, including this trench coat.
I love the draping of this coat. This is a classic trench coat design that is great for the spring time when it's still a little cold. It finishes your look with a sophisticated touch, regardless of whether you dress it up or down.
I couldn't balance in the middle of the shoot, but these came out kind of cute so I wanted to include them. Hehe.
There's been a lot going on in my life in the past month including transitioning into a brand new job. Updating the blog page came a lot later than I had wanted, but it's here. And it'll continue to come. So keep up with me on my Instagram handle for blog and non-blog related things. :)

Where Are You, Spring?

If you live in LA and you visit different Korean marketplaces, this background will be very familiar to you. It is one of the newly renovated market buildings in Koreatown. I thought it'd be a decent area for a photoshoot, because the roof area is really cute.
My favorite season of the year has to be Spring, because my body is pretty sensitive to extreme weather conditions. I'm that girl who will more often than not choose warmth over fashion. I didn't think it was going to be so windy and cold when I shot this look but I was freezing. So much for planning ahead and trying to create content for the spring season.
This was a spring-ish look that I put together, with neutral colors that complimented each other well. I remember absolutely loving blush colors last spring season, and that's when I got this shirt. It's super simple and perfect for an oversized, boxy look. I wore blue jeans instead of black pants, and put on my current favorite knit cardigan.
Working with the outside lighting conditions was not very easy, and I apologize if some of these photos look low quality. I've been changing up the way I edit my photos as well and am struggling to perfect it (I'm not a professional so it's hard T-T).
I really like these shoes. The color, the design, and the fit. One thing I do not like about it is the quality of it, and I wouldn't say that it is the most comfortable pair of flats (It hurts the back of my ankle after a couple of hours of wear). I randomly bought them because it was on clearance and they had my size which is unusual.
Aside from the cons, I love how it compliments the color scheme of this outfit. The blush, nude and the brown go really well together. I accessorized the outfit with my brown belt to tie in the whole look together.
I can't wait to actually rock these spring-ish outfits without freezing my butt off. It's a simple, easy and effortless look that can be revised to fit your mood of the day. Just swap out the colors but keep the style. You know what I mean? :) I hope you guys are having a great week, and cheers to a great weekend.

Bringing Back the Confidence

If you have been a follower of my blog for long enough, you will remember this dress.
I wrote a blog post about this flowy, floral dress before.
It has been a favorite since day one but to be honest, I have not been wearing skirts and dresses for about a year or so.
You may ask why, when I have been losing weight for the past year. But maybe that is exactly why. I have been losing weight for the past year and I have been avoiding certain pieces and styles. I want to say it's because I simply don't want to see myself in them until I reach my goal, but sometimes I also don't feel as bold enough as before to show skin, especially my legs.
I've always had a thick lower body and was never considered a skinny child growing up. I didn't let that get in the way. Or at least tried not to let it get in the way. Oddly enough, I seem to have issues being confident in that aspect now more than before my weight-loss. And in order to overcome that fear or lack of confidence, I decided to pull this dress out of the closet again.
I wore a simple pair of nude, suede flats to go with this multi-colored floral dress. I accessorized the look with my current go-to purse and put on a lightweight coat. I chose a nude colored pair of shoes over black to make my legs look longer. I also wanted the focus to be on the dress and not the shoes.
I am counting down the days until the weather warms up again. I can't wear pretty dresses and skirts when it's raining (yes, it's finally raining here in LA). But spring is right around the corner, and I want to actively work on overcoming my fears and building more confidence through my passion aka fashion (wow did I just rhyme there LOL) and share that experience with you guys here on my blog. Don't forget to stay updated through my instagram activities as well!
